Next in our series of enjoying Queen City and its surroundings is Davidson! We are all familiar with the amazing university nestled in a cute town but there is so much to do in Davidson a day trip is calling your name!
Start your morning off right with coffee from locally-owned Summit Coffee. There are 2 locations, one on Main Street and one on Davidson's campus.
Take that warm java to go and stroll the Davidson Farmer's Market. In addition to produce, the market also has flowers, meats, baked goods and live cooking demonstrations.
Now that you are fully caffeinated it's time to hit Aloha Paddlesports and beat the heat with some paddleboarding. If you have never been on a paddle board they offer lessons.
After your water fun, you'll be ready for lunch and there is no better place to grab lunch than farm-to-table restaurant The Pickled Peach. The sandwiches are to die for! The offerings are so creative like bacon butter lettuce, tomato, pimento cheese on cornbread sandwich or shaved red beet, honey goat cheese, arugula, and balsamic reduction on grilled multi-grain. They also have a full lineup of salads and a daily rotation of bakery treats.
Walk off your lunch with a stroll around the Davidson campus and then follow the Davidson walking tour from the Davidson Historical Society. You can print off a copy before you go for free. If your up for it you can also check out the ghost tours.
Round out your day with dinner at the Davidson Soda Shop. Opened in 1951, you will feel like you have stepped back in time while you enjoy your burger and fries! P.S. save room for dessert!
