Fall is almost here and we have the perfect fall family getaway! Pigeon Forge TN is an easy (and beautiful) drive from Charlotte and offers a weekend full of fun. Dollywood is usually the first thing you think of when you think of Pigeon Forge but you can have a ton of fun without hitting the park (but if you do, check out our guide before you go).
Here are 5 things to do in Pigeon Forge this fall:
Rent a Cabin: There are plenty of hotels in the area but the rentals tuck you away into the mountains where the best views are. Pigeon Forge is very active so being able to slip out of the bright lights and noise is a welcome way to end your day.
Catch a Ride: Pigeon Forge offers something for everyone no matter the level of excitement you want to experience. You can race cars at The Track, ride the slopes at Pigeon Forge Snow, live on the edge and ride one of the many mountain coasters or soar in the air at Sky Fly. If you need something tamer, there is plenty of mini golf!
Eat: Bring your elastic pants! There is no shortage of great places to eat. Grab lunch at the Pigeon Forge Deli it was one of our favorites! For dinner make a night out of it at one of the many dinner theaters. Pirates Voyage, Hatfield and McCoy’s, Lumberjack Feud, and Dolly Parton’s Stampede are all great options for fun and a great dinner. Not into a show? Hit up Mama’s Farmhouse for the family-style southern fare.
Explore: Pigeon Forge is full of great museums and interactive exhibits. Don’t miss The Titanic Museum (really DO NOT miss this one! Even my teenage kids loved it), Wonderworks and MagicQuest are our top picks!
Hit the Water: Before it cools off, take advantage of the mountains and whitewater raft. There are plenty of companies to choose from, we went with Rafting in the Smokies and would use them again! Our guide was awesome, and the rapids were fantastic! Not into the rapids? Head to Dollywood and spend the day at Dolly Parton’s Splash Country, you can relax and let the kids have all the fun!
