Taco Tuesday may be a thing, NATIONAL NACHO DAY is Wednesday and I can't think of a better excuse to enjoy some Mexican food! Plus, it's one of the few meal categories that can truly satisfy everyone in our family.
Last week we ventured over to Sun Valley Commons in Indian Trail and tried Charanda Authentic Mexican Eatery. This local, family owned and operated chain is directly across from the movie theaters. With a spacious patio and fantastic service, we were able to really enjoy our meal out.
Here's the crazy part: we spend a LOT of time in that area. We used to go to that movie theater pretty often - and still, we'd never been into Charanda! I don't know why - but we won't make that mistake again and I hope that I can save you from it too! The service was terrific, the food was outstanding and having that spacious patio made dining with the kids so much easier - especially during COV.
The kids each ordered virgin margaritas while David got the real-deal ~ the boys felt fancy with their "grown-up" drinks and David said his was delicious. But what really got us all jazzed was the HUGE plate of nachos we ordered. Now, my kids aren't big into cooked veggies - so we opted for the house nachos that had beans, ground beef, guacamole salad and cheese. I wanted the fajita nachos and was severely overruled. Isn't that life with kids?

While the nachos probably would have been a sufficient meal for my kids to split, we wanted to try ALL. THE. THINGS! Seth went with his favorite (cheese enchilada) and Miles tried something new (chicken finger quesadilla). David ordered fajitas and I found my most favorite thing on earth: Peruvian-style ceviche. Of course I imposed a "Mommy Tax" so I could take a bite of everyone's food and even though David shared, he still had plenty to bring home for Friday's lunch!
