Let's get real for a minute: Art + Kids = MESSY FUN! And, with school on a modified schedule (or out entirely), our kids are missing out on so many of the non-academic growth opportunities that MESS (I mean, ART) bring. Small Hands Big Art wants to help bring that art back to our kids lives and our Late Fall programs are just the way to do it. We have relocated to our larger new Mixed Media Art studio at Waverly, with a spacious new adjoining Pottery Studio.
Art helps kids with fine motor skills & problem solving, encourages innovations, helps with focus & expressing their emotions - and sometimes - escape to imaginary (or very real) places. Whether your child is into playing with paints, clay or other media - after 11 years in South Charlotte, we have a robust schedule to bring the best of the art world to your children's lives. This fall we are offering classes including:
- Creative Preschool Morning Classes (ages 3.5-6)
- Creative Lab drop-in Classes (ages 5-12)
- Teen/Tween Crafternoons
- Intermediate Mixed Media (ages 12-16)
- Family Open Studio
- Drawing and Painting
- Sculpture
- Pottery
- Escort-Your-Artist (intended for a caregiver and a child ages 18m - 4 years)

Our studio is a teaching studio - so while your kids are gluing buttons onto a project or getting their hands dirty (literally) on the pottery wheel - we are teaching them technical art and practical life skills. Our goal is to see that your children leave the studio having enjoyed the creative process. We want them feeling confident and proud of their efforts and finished pieces. And above all, we want them to surprise both you and themselves with how much they learned
And with the ever-changing "school" environment, we are getting creative, too, with our programming. In addition to our regular late fall line-up, we are now offering classes for small groups and pods, as well as drop-in classes for our bigger kids on Friday nights!
