Girl Scouts Hornet's Nest Goes Virtual This Fall!

Join the fun From Home!

By Girl Scout's Hornets Nest Chapter August 31, 2020

Girl Scouts may not be able to meet in person, but thanks to Girl Scouts at Home, we can all participate in amazing Girl Scout events—online and in real time.

Girl Scouting never stops! The Girl Scouts, Hornets’ Nest Council is launching a series of virtual programs and badge workshops that kids of all ages can participate in. Girl Scouts are known for their engaging, fun and educational experiences that have been enjoyed by troops for more than 108 years, and GSHNC will continue to offer these programs, now easily done in the comfort of your own home on your own time.

There is nothing we take more seriously than the safety and wellbeing of our girls, families, volunteers and council staff. To ensure girls continue to have a safe, fun, one-of-a-kind experience at Girl Scouts, we've curated tons of virtual Girl Scouting resources.

Troops are being creative with the times and still meeting virtually until it is safe to meet in person. Troops are forming as we speak and accepting new girls K-12!

GSHNC also have “Family Day Camps” at the Residential Camp at Oak Springs, north of Statesville, to get families and their Girl Scouts spend outdoor time together at the beautiful property.

Covid or not, Girl Scouts will never stop helping the communities in their respective areas and this fall Union 1 Service Unit will continue their tradition of helping other girls to join Girl Scouts (Sister2Sister), collect Holiday Gifts for children in need as well as collect gently used winter clothing for the homeless.  Events will take place at Hunter Farms of Weddington, NC. We are following all guidelines of CDC to ensure everyone feels safe to participate in activities at the farm (Hayrides, Pumpkins, S’mores and all). Donations can be dropped off 2 weeks leading to the events as well as the day of the event. Please visit @union1girlscouts on Facebook to get the latest on Union 1 Girl Scouts and their events. As we say in Girl Scouts: Do a Good Turn Daily!

New Girl Scout Year will start October 1. Welcome all girls K-12! To Join: https://www.hngirlscouts.org/en/about-girl-scouts/join.html
