Fall Dance Options and Safety Measures at We're Dancin'

By We're Dancin' August 17, 2020

As the school year comes to a start, We’re Dancin’ is so excited to begin our recreational dance and acro/gymnastics programs for children and teens on September 8th. We look forward with determination and enthusiasm as we re-vamp what our weekly fall schedule will look like for our ’20-’21 season.

We will still be offering our amazing programs, just MORE of them! Whether your child is a beginner or a competitive dancer, we offer something for everyone! Among the highlights of our fall schedule:

  • Tutus and Tumbles (2-3yo)
  • Dance Combo (all ages)
  • Elementary Hip Hop
  • Elementary Tap
  • Mommy & Me
  • Homeschool Dance (2 age-ranges)
  • All Boys Hip Hop
  • Pointe
  • Ballet (all skill levels)
  • Fit Mom Jazz

Exploring ideas and practices used around the US, as well as abroad, we have been involved in forums with other studio owners and teachers, and we are learning a lot! Among other precautions you can look forward to:

  • Staggered start times for classes to reduce traffic in the hallways.
    • Teachers will greet their students at the studio entrance and have them sanitize their hands upon arrival.
    • Each dancer will have their temperatures taken before entering class.
  • We're inviting parents and siblings of dancers to please wait in the car or run errands in lieu of sitting in the lobby to cut down on the amount of people in the common areas of the studio.
  • Increased class offerings throughout the day (and evenings) to accommodate smaller class sizes.
  • Bright colored tape outlines social distancing squares on the floor for each dancer to stand in and take class.
    • Each student will also have a designated spot to leave their dance bag/personal items, like water bottles, separated from others.
  • Increased sanitizing:
    • Hand washing/hand sanitizers will be implemented before class, and afterwards.
    • We will sanitize each class room after each use. There are cleaning blocks of 15 minutes in the schedule following each class. During those times, the floors, ballet barres, mats or any equipment used will be cleaned for the next class.
  • Dancers should have their own equipment, shoes and not plan to “share” such items with others. When possible, coming dressed for dance will cut down on those dancers using the bathrooms to change. Students should have a mask to be worn when social distancing is not possible, for example-when using the hallways to go to the restroom.

REGISTER NOW for fall classes!

While this may seem like a lot of changes, we believe these policies will lend to safety and the chance for dancers to have an in-studio experience. However, if your dancer prefers to stay home and continue their dance education-you may! We will offer virtual opportunities to be utilized by those wish to, or in the event a dancer is sick and cannot attend their class.

All of these policies will be followed as we continue monitoring the COVID-19 situation. Should the government change their executive orders, we, too, will evolve our plans and move forward at that point accordingly.

We will also not require costume deposits, performance fees, etc. until we are certain there will be events to require these fees to secure. When this happens, you will have the choice to participate or not. If you have any questions, please give us a call or email us-we are happy to help in any way!
