Work it OUT! Apps and Instagram Workouts to Keep You On-Track

And it goes on. School starts on Monday and we are all still home and it is looking like gyms opening anytime soon is a far off dream but we have rounded up our favorite apps and people to follow on Instagram for some new workouts you can do from home.

Apps:

Peleton: You don't have to own a bike to take advantage of a great workout. The Peleton app has everything from yoga to Bootcamp. I love the option of outdoor workouts as well, it's like having your own running coach. Peleton is an app on your smart TV also so you can pop it up on the big screen and workout. The app also offers specific programs you can follow as well as meditation to help keep you centered during remote learning. The best part for me is the live classes you can join, it is super fun and motivating to workout with a group. The first month is free and then it is $12.99 a month. This app also connects with just about any fitness tracker.

FITON: In my opinion, this is the best free app out there. The app sets you up on a program that will align with your goals. After you have set up your goals, FITON drops in 4 workout suggestions that you can follow for the week. You can even have the app sync with your calendar so you get a reminder. The workouts are fairly challenging and you can add or take away specific workouts to your plan. There is an option to upgrade so you can listen to your own music, but it does not bother me because I usually have something else playing in the background. This app also connects with just about any fitness tracker.

Active by PopSugar: This app is fun, the workouts are creative and you can even catch a great 21-day workout with Jake DuPree, if you do not know who he is you're missing out! Active offers several plans you can follow ranging from 14 days to 4 weeks. You can set a schedule on their calendar and get reminders at the specific time you workout. Active has yoga, strength, and cardio options, the app is free also! Follow PopSugar on Instagram for live workouts several times a week.

Instagram:

Kira Stokes and Candace Cameron Bure (yes! DJ Tanner) have hosted IG Live workouts every Monday for months now, the workouts are hosted on @candacebure story and she has saved several of them in her IGTV tab. Kira Stokes (@kirastokesfit) is no joke, her workouts will leave you on the ground, most of their workouts are over an hour and are super effective. Stokes also trains Nastia Liukin (@nastialukin) and you can find some of their workouts in her IGTV tab as well. Kira Stokes also has a great app, it is one of the few that I will actually pay for, she offers a 7-day free trial and then it is $14.99 a month.

@Madeline_Moves was introduced to me by my niece. she and I love similar types of workouts. Madeline posts specific workouts you can do on your own, she is really great about explaining the form and demonstrating the moves. This is a weight focused workout. If you like to lift or want to learn to lift this is a great profile to follow.

@Suzie_kb is also a profile my niece sent to me. Suzie is so cute and I love the cute pup she always has by her side. Suzie does body part specific workouts and a lot of them integrate the bands she sells. I did end up buying her resistance bands and they were well worth it! You will not believe the intense workout you can get with her bands, she has 2 different sizes and because they are made from fabric, they provide an intense burn. Suzie also just has the best personality, she is always so supportive, she is very body positive focused on loving the stage your body is in.

Instagram is a great place to find workouts, several local area gyms have been offering Instagram live workouts, just look up your favorite local studio and see what they have going on!
